Do you know that Dr. Seuss book “The Lorax”? Have you ever read it and thought — dang, if only that furry little environmentalist was over 6-feet tall and played hockey in California? Well, you don’t have to because Jeff Carter exists!!
Wait, I need to apologize. I’m so sorry. I have no idea if he cares about the environment.
What I know for sure: Jeff Carter (#77) is from London, Ontario and currently leads the LA Kings in goals scored. So far he accounts for 20 percent of the Kings scoring this season!
Remember clutch shorty (and by shorty, I mean “shawty”) Mike Richards? I also know Carter is that dude’s BFF. They won gold medals together on Team Canada, they won the Calder Cup together when they played for the Phantoms (Philly’s AHL affiliate), Carter was Richie’s linemate on the Flyers, and 30 minutes after Richie was traded to Los Angeles, Carter was dealt to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
I’m not saying Carter felt like this was the worst thing that could’ve ever happened to him in his career, but I can’t promise it isn’t how he felt either.
Someone asks if Carts is excited about playing in Columbus:
"Outwardly, I was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, I was screaming."
'Titanic' quote or color commentary about Jeff Carter during this interview?
Someone asks Carts about being excited to play in LA and see Mike Richards again and hang with Richie’s dog:
I’m not saying, but I’m just saying.
The Kings traded for Carter because they were having trouble scoring goals. Goaltender Jonathan Quick (#32) was almost carrying the Kings’ 2011-2012 season and Jeff Carter has an awesome shot that tends to lead to pucks in net.
Carter banking it off a player’s skate to add insult to injury as he scores.
At the end of February 2012, nobody was as happy about being in Los Angeles as Jeff Carter. The second happiest person was Mike Richards.
Carter lived up to the challenge to jumpstart the Kings’ scoring and even netted a hat trick during last year’s Stanley Cup run. Everybody wins!
Except Philadelphia. And Columbus, I guess.
Whatever, more importantly, it doesn’t hurt that when the tan-to-hair color ratio evens out, Carter’s real nice on the eyes.
