The most notorious “bromance” among the LA Kings is, without a doubt, the imported friendship affair between Jeff Carter and Mike Richards. It’s hard to compete when these are the quotes they give about each other:
"We expected to play our whole careers together. I’ve known Jeff since we were 16, probably best friends since we were 18. We lived together and probably spent every day together for a couple years."
From Daily News LA. Richards, you’re in public.
This one was right after winning the Stanley Cup.
Now you really get why them getting separated from each other for a while last season was cruel punishment, right?
But they’re not the only bestie situation on the Kings. No, Drew Doughty (#8) and Trevor Lewis (#22) give Richie and Carts a run for codependency, and they’ve been on the Kings for some years now.
Look, those dudes even live together and share Doughty’s cute dog Reggie:

Trevor Lewis is a forward from Salt Lake City, Utah. He was drafted 17th overall by the Kings in 2006 and played with their minor league affiliate teams for several seasons, sometimes bouncing up to the big leagues when they needed extra men. Lewie’s first full season with the LA Kings was 2010-11.
This is what it looks like when Lewie does work:
Crazy angle, awkward lean, and yet the Dallas goaltender still doesn’t have a chance to stop the puck from going top shelf. That’s why he’s in the majors now.
Drew Doughty (aka “Dewy”) is a defenseman. He’s from London, Ontario like Carter, and he thinks London is the best city in the world, though Captain “Toothless” Dustin Brown frequently begs to differ. Dewy was drafted 2nd overall in 2008 and in 2011 became one of the highest paid defensemen in the NHL. He’s currently only 23.
The Kings wanted to lock up Doughty because he’s not just a skilled D-man, he’s a solid offensive player, too. Last year, he was 5th in goals scored among the Kings, and when he isn’t helping to create offensive opportunities, he’s making big hits defensively.
Nighty night, Goligoski!
And if you ever need to find Lewie or Dewy off the ice for some reason, well — odds are they’re probably together.
Even Jeff Carter chirped them for how much they’re on the phone with each other, and Carts is a guy a former teammate said this about once, after he was traded to LA and reunited with Mike Richards:
I can’t decide who this is more awkward for, to be completely honest with you.
